Thursday 9th June 2016
Due to major building works, there will be no patient access to the car park on the morning of Thursday 9th June. This is for your own safety as there will be heavy machinery being operated.
We suggest that you only visit the surgery if it is urgent.
We hope to have open access to the car park from 2pm.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS
On 1st June 2016 we are changing and enhancing the way that we work, by upgrading our clinical computer system.
REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS IN MAY
When you put in a request for a repeat prescription and you collect your prescriptions from the surgery, you will receive two separate prescriptions. The first prescription can be dispensed on the date that you require your medication, and the second prescription can be dispensed on or after the date of the post-dated prescription.
If you collect your medication directly from a pharmacy, they will receive both prescriptions and you should collect your medication from them as normal.
Unfortunately our electronic prescribing service will not be available in June so any prescriptions that are usually sent this way will be collected from the surgery by your usual pharmacy ready for you to collect.
VISION ON-LINE REQUESTS
If you currently use the Vision on-line service to order repeat prescriptions and book and cancel appointments, from the 16th May this will not be available so you will need to re-register for access to the new version of this service.
If you would like to register for this on-line service, please provide us with;
- two types of photographic ID OR
- one photographic ID + a bank statement/utility bill.
Our new on-line service provides automatic access to some of your medical records, and it is for this reason that identification requirements have been increased.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused during this transition period.

We are a five-partner practice, providing care for approximately 8,000 patients with a practice area that extends across the whole of Torquay. We employ a full range of professional medical and clerical staff and our large, spacious premises enable us to house additional services, some of which are detailed on this website.
Croft Hall Medical Practice is a friendly, innovative, up-to-date and fully computerised surgery, which has been at its present location since 1995. The building was formerly the St John of God Nursing Home and, prior to that, its history stretches back to being a hotel, a presbytery and a private residence. It is a large Victorian villa with pleasant gardens, parking and ground floor access for disabled people.
Based in the heart of Torquay, close to the local bus and train station, there are three waiting areas available for patients, which provide a comfortable waiting space. There are clinical rooms downstairs to provide easy access for patients in wheelchairs or with pushchairs or prams. The practice building is also served by a lift which provides access to the first and second floor of the building.
